Hi Kelsey,

I hope you are well.

Please find the details as well as abstract for the presentation below:

The Digital Debate

Presented by
Thomas Coetzee
Ameera Dinat

Abstract
Tertiary education seems to be moving towards electronic learning. Is this shift environmentally justifiable? This study investigates the environmental impact of a shift from using paper to using a "tablet" system for dissemination of information to students at the University of the Witwatersrand. This presentation will provide discussion into the environmental impact of each technology.

I have also attached the poster we made for our research project, this will give you an indication of what the talk will be about.

Please let us know any further information.

Kind regards
Thomas and Ameera

Hi Thomas,

Thought I'd touch base with you about speaking next week (28th Feb) and if you had a title? I'd like to send it to our office administrator (CC'ed) so that she could put together an advert.

Thanks again! Looking forward to your talk next week!

Kind regards,
Kelsey

Hi Thomas,

Great- thanks so much! We generally start the Friday afternoon seminar (informal talks) at 13h30. You'd have until 2ish, so about half an hour. If you like, you could plan to talk for 20ish minutes, and I'm sure you'll get a lot of questions/discussion.

Please could you send me a title that I could send to our secretary to use to advertise to the students?

Just to recap the details:

Room B14, 28 Feb at 13h30

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks again!
Kelsey

Hi Kelsey

Ok great, yes I'm keen to do it! My project partner called Ameera dinat, (cc'd here ) and I will put a presentation together this week. We will be sharing the presentation.

How long do we have the floor for?

I don't think it will take 30 min for us to present our paper.

Kind regards
Thomas Coetzee

Hi Thomas,

Lochran sent me your contact details and suggested I contact you about giving a short Friday afternoon seminar in AP&ES. I've heard that you've done interesting work on determining whether paper or e-note taking is better for the environment. If you'd be amenable, it would be great if you could give a talk next Friday (21 Feb). It's a relatively short, informal talk, that lasts about 30 minutes.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Cheers
Kelsey
