Dear all

Rhodes University Botany Department is looking for an enthusiastic scientist with a PhD (or very close to completing a PhD) to teach a  three week course on land plant diversity and evolution at first year level. This position is ideally suited for someone interested in a career in academia, as it will expose them to the full range of academic activities.

The anticipated period for this course is August 2013. This post will require the incumbent to prepare lectures, present lectures, as well as prepare and run three practical classes associated with the course. A basic course outline and some lecture materials are available to the successful applicant to draw on in developing their own course.

Additional duties will the be the setting and marking of a class test at the end of the teaching period, as well as setting and marking both theory and practical exam questions. Exams will take place during November. Remuneration will be according to qualifications and experience.
