2014 MSc advert, University of Pretoria

For 2014 I am looking for a new FULL-TIME MSc student looking at the diet
and long term trends in a spotted hyena population. This project will entail
ca 12 months camera trapping and scat collecting fieldwork while also
collating and analysing historical camera trapping data. This will be
followed by ca 12 months office work while finishing the thesis. Initial
statements of interest (with documents as indicated below) can be sent to me
now. I will shortlist by 12 July. I may request an interview at your cost
and the potential candidate will then apply for a NRF free standing bursary
and other funding. Some running costs are already secured.

1) A statement of interest that explains to me what motivates you to pursue
a higher degree, what kinds of questions interest you, and why you think
that you will be a suitable student.
2) A detailed CV that includes your work experience, publications and
grades.

Non south Africans will need to find living costs themselves.
