Hi all,

I wanted to flag a really exciting opportunity for someone you might know. President Obama has prioritized an investment in emerging African leadership as one of his top legacy programs. Right now the US is recruiting for a leadership fellowship program that involves some learning in the the US, mentorship and internship opportunities. While we are still working out the mentorship/internship piece, I really think that the program might offer some life-changing opportunities for some folks, as I've heard of the caliber of international and local mentors that are interested in participating in the program.

I have a personal interest in seeing some environmental folks benefit from this program. South Africa has a large number of slots, but every country in the SADC region does as well. I know each of you knows someone who has tremendous potential --please, please encourage them to apply online.

Participation will be funded. The criteria are listed below as well as a link to the site where folks can get information and also where they can apply.

Doreen
