Importance: High

Dear Prof.,

Happy New Year!

On request of Ambassador Anders Hagelberg, I would like to send a reminder of the 10 FULL SCHOLARSHIPS (tuition fees plus living expenses, travel costs, etc.) that the Government of Sweden will be offering per year for South African students to master programs in Sweden (these are the eligible programs, sorted by University)<http://www.studyinsweden.se/upload/studyinsweden_se/Documents/2013/Eligible%20Programmes%20Study%202014-15.pdf>, starting in August/September 2014. (Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree<https://www.universityadmissions.se/en/All-you-need-to-know1/Applying-for-studies/Documenting-your-eligibility/Masters-documentation-requirements/Specific-requirements-for-my-country/South-Africa/> from a South African university.)

Please note that applications to Swedish Masters programs<https://www.universityadmissions.se/en/All-you-need-to-know1/Applying-for-studies/Application-process/> have to be submitted no later than 15 January 2014 and that the application period for the scholarship is 3-11 February.

I realize this is short notice for your students to apply. However, it may be worthwhile noting that the information about this has been made available very late and that chances are good for those who apply. And also that applications can be made online, making it possible for students to complete applications on time. We would be delighted if you could share this information with your students, especially if there are some outstanding ones you think have made themselves worthy of a scholarship of this kind.

Please find more about the scholarship and application process here<http://www.studyinsweden.se/Scholarships/SI-scholarships/The-Swedish-Institute-Study-Scholarships/The-Swedish-Institute-Study-Scholarships-South-Africa/>.

For any queries, please ask your students to contact Helena Pietersen at the Embassy on helena.pietersen at gov.se<mailto:helena.pietersen at gov.se> or 012- 426 6452.

Wishing all applicants best of luck and looking forward to the exchange of experience and knowledge that this would result in!

Best wishes,
Eslene Potgieter, PA to Ambassador, on behalf of
Anders Hagelberg
Ambassador of Sweden to South Africa
