I obtained your contact details from a colleague of mine (Odelia Pillay) who ran the internship programme during the 2013 period. I have been provided the opportunity to manage the internship programme for 2014 and as such would really appreciate your assistance in ensuring students at the University of the Witwatersrand are aware of this opportunity. WSP is looking for an undergraduate or honours student who is involved in one or more of the following fields of study: * Biochemistry; * Environmental; * Geoscience; * Hydrology; * Ecology; * Earth Science; and * Geology. The student who successfully applies for the internship (i.e. passes the interview and completes the application form to a satisfactory level) will be invited to join our Johannesburg (Bryanston) office for the periods mentioned above. The student will begin with a two week period in June/July 2014 and will subsequently be considered for the December 2014/January 2015 internship programme (involvement of the same student over the December 2014/2015 period is not guaranteed and will be determined based on performance). My request for assistance includes the following: * Please send me a list of the top 15 candidates (with student contact details) - I would like to send each student a personal invitation to apply for the Internship position; * WSP is in the process of developing an awareness poster regarding the possible internship position which I need erected at a conspicuous location within the faculty; and * Your support during the period leading up to the internship period in case WSP identifies any further value adding activities for the student. I look forward to your response. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Kind Regards. Box 33 Skukuza 1350 +27 824226225 laurence.kruger at gmail.com Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
