<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">The School of Animal, Plant and Environmental Sciences wishes to appoint a temporary laboratory technician to assist in the Molecular Systematics Laboratory. This would be Grade 9 and a 50% appointment and for
one month (June). The successful applicant must be proficient at doing </span>DNA extractions and PCR amplifications and purification of the products.
<span style="color:#1F497D">This will include </span>troubleshooting to optimise the results or even get results. It also involves making the gels to visualise the results and photographing them using the GelDoc Imaging system.<span style="color:#1F497D">
</span>It might also involve cutting bands out of gels (if multiple bands occur and all efforts to avoid these are fruitless) and then purifying these products.<o:p></o:p></p>
