Salmonella Paratyphi B, tartrate (+) illnesses linked to sushi consumption

Hello,

CDC is currently investigating a cluster of 41 cases of Salmonella Paratyphi B, tartrate (+) illnesses, matching PFGE Xbal pattern JKXX01.1495 from 8 states: [AZ (9), CA (24), IL, MS, NM (3), SD, VA, WI]. Cases ranges in age from <1-68 years, with a median of 30 years, and 46% of cases are female. Reported and estimated illness onset dates range from March 5, 2015 ? April 16, 2015. 25% of cases have been hospitalized and no deaths have been reported. Cases are reported high rates of sushi consumption, particularly sushi containing raw tuna. All domestic exposures reported to date have occurred in the southwestern part of the United States.

We would appreciate if you could investigate possible matches in your databases. Attached, please find a TIFF and bundle file with additional information.
