Please circulate this call to graduate students and encourage them to submit their paper for the SAHS conference 2022 for consideration for the Graduate Student Prize. Graduate Student Prize 2022 The 28th Biennial Conference of the Southern African Historical Society (SAHS) that is hosted by the University of Fort Hare, East London campus and scheduled for 28-30 June2022 is also inviting a Call for Submissions of Papers for a Graduate Student Prize. The winner will receive the following prizes: ? Membership to SAHS (or membership refund, from June 2022-December 2023). ? Taylor & Francis book vouchers worth ?250 pounds. ? If the winning paper is recommended for publication, it will appear in the special conference edition of the South African Historical Journal (SAHJ) Submissions should be 6,000-8,000 words in length, 1.5 lined spaced with 12- point font, inclusive of footnotes and bibliography. The paper should be original work, sole authored and should not have been submitted to a journal for review or publication. The subject matter of the paper must fit within the mandate of the SAHJ. Eligible students must be Southern African and/or enrolled at a Southern African University. Submissions should be sent to the committee chair and SAHS Vice-President, Dr Tshepo Moloi, University of Free State: MoloiTC1 at ufs.ac.za, with evidence of your student status and institutional affiliation. Results of the competition will be announced at the Conference Gala Dinner on 29 June 2022. Submission Deadline: 27th May 2022 Friday 3 June 2022 (extended) A limited number of postgraduate bursaries to assist with registration fees for in-person attendance are available. Postgraduate students are welcome to apply to the Local Organising Committee for consideration for these bursaries.
