[SAHS] Please renew your SAHS membership for 2025-6

Dear SAHS Members and Prospective Members.

Your 2025-2026 membership is now due. Membership for the SAHS runs over two years. The membership fee for 2025 - 2026 is R5550 for academic staff and those drawing salaries, R30 for postgraduate students.

To register as members for the current cycle, please sign up online via the website (use the "Sign Up for Membership" tab. You will find payment details on the website.
Note that we no longer use the old forms (sent via email) for signing up.

Even if you have signed up previously, you need to sign up again, via the website. Unfortunately, if you do not sign up via the website, you will not be added to the membership list for Taylor and Francis, and so will no longer receive members-only copies (virtual and hardcopy) of our beloved journal, the South African Historical Journal. We currently have a few conflicting membership lists and need to rebuild our list virtually from scratch.

For any enquiries about membership costs or invoices, including costs for Southern African members (or if you think you need a lower rate), please email Prof. Natasha Erlank at: nerlank at uj.ac.za<mailto:nerlank at uj.ac.za>. If you think you have already paid for the current membership cycle, you an check with Natasha. SAHS Exco and Editorial Board members receive a membership in recognition of their efforts. We also have a few honorary members.

International payments: we are still between a rock and a hard place on this issue. If you are an international member, please register and drop me an email so that I know that you plan to pay. We do have a physical card machine for any of you who might be coming to Johannesburg, so I can process card payments in person for international members. These will attract a surcharge.

Some history departments pay for their staff and / or students to be members. If you know this is the case, please ask your administrator to contact me so that I can provide invoices.
