Siphiwe Thwala will be running a workshop on Big Data on Saturday 3 October.

Please note that the Big Data workshop uses the R language. If you're interest in Big Data but not familiar with R, please attend Mxolisi's R workshop this Saturday. The details are copied below.

The Up-n-Running with R workshop will be run in Mathematical Sciences Laboratories, Science Stadium, this Saturday.

R is a wonderfully clean and easy to learn programming language, but it is none-the-less immensely powerful. R is used by a lot of big companies for data analysis and visualization.

If you're new to programming, or perhaps would like to quickly learn a new language, please join us. If you're attending the Astrophysics Interest Group, this workshop will be very helpful because all code for that group will be implemented in R.
