Ecophysiological/ecological mechanisms by which woody thickening changes understory through altered light and water-relations.

An MSc bursary of R 75 000 per annumis offered for 2013-2014 under the ACCESS (Applied Centre for Climate & Earth System Studies) programme.
Additional funding is available to cover all research expenses.

This project is part of a multi-disciplinary team exploring the drivers of land cover change.
Applicants must have a BSc Hons with a keen interest in plant ecology/ecophysiology. Funding is available to all South Africans, but preference will be given to good applicants from designated groups.

Application should reach Brad Ripley (b.ripley at ru.ac.za) by 31st January
2013
and should include a motivating letter outlining the suitability and interests of the applicant, a short CV, a copy of the applicant's academic record, and the name of at least two referees.
