PhD / MSc bursary available for plant systematics research.

A Rhodes University bursary of R80,000 (MSc=R60,000) is available for a motivated student interested in undertaking a post-graduate degree in plant systematics and biogeography.

A choice of 2-3 different projects is available, details of which will be provided to interested and eligible applicants. The successful applicant will be joining a vibrant and highly productive multidisciplinary post-graduate research group in a botany department with wide-ranging interests.

Applicants must
. be South African
. be willing to undertake field work in arduous conditions . be able to work in herbaria and undertake plant identifications . preferably have a drivers licence . be computer literate . be able to communicate well in written and spoken English . have a knowledge of and love for South Africa's flora.

The successful applicant will be registered at Rhodes University, Department of Botany, and be full time in attendance. Commencement date: 
As soon as possible.
