INVITATION TO APPLY FOR THE LEADERSHIP PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARDS

The GreenMatter Fellowship is positioned within a nested programme of systemic interventions, designed to connect a community of outstanding Biodiversity champions and leaders. Our Fellowship offering for 2015 includes a focus on Leadership Development for those currently in the workplace and is supported by the Green Trust. The call is now open and will close on 01 April 2015.

The Fellowship is unique in that it challenges the traditional notion of leadership and offers a range of development opportunities. Successful applicants will join a community of established leaders, young professionals and graduates across a range of Biodiversity priority skills identified for South Africa. The GreenMatter Fellowship emphasises camaraderie, community and peer learning, while encouraging individual excellence. Financial support focused on leadership is complemented by a holistic development programme which includes networking, mentoring and structured professional development opportunities.

Successful applicants will be provided with:
•    An opportunity to undertake a structured Leadership Development Programme (LDP) during 2015 that will focus on developing key skills, competencies and provide field experiences that respond to advancing conservation and management of South Africa’s biological resources;
•    Successful applicants will be connected with an appropriate mentor based on personal development and career aspirations;
•    2 Professional growth contact sessions, in addition to the LDP opportunity, which will include networking, leadership and advocacy development;
• The opportunity to connect with a community of diverse Biodiversity leaders and champions and the broader cross-sectoral GreenMatter community; and
• The opportunity to profile significant areas of your work with GreenMatter support.

Eligibility Criteria:
•    Mid-career managers already working in key institutions/organisations involved in conservation and management of Biodiversity across the country;
•    South African citizens; and
• Professionals with areas of work that align with GreenMatter’s priority skill areas<http://www.greenmatter.co.za/index.php?option=com_acymailing&ctrl=url&urlid=34&mailid=46&subid=1>.

For more information visit the GreenMatter Fellowship Webpage<http://www.greenmatter.co.za/index.php?option=com_acymailing&ctrl=url&urlid=92&mailid=46&subid=1>. Click here to download the application form<http://www.greenmatter.co.za/index.php?option=com_acymailing&ctrl=url&urlid=93&mailid=46&subid=1>.

Successful applicants will be required to attend a 3 day professional development and orientation session between 21-23 April 2015 in Cape Town.

GreenMatter has a strong transformation agenda and is looking to support black South African candidates where possible. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, 01 April 2015 by 15:00 and should be emailed to landiwe at greenmatter.co.za<mailto:landiwe at greenmatter.co.za> . Applications received late will not be considered. This is a highly competitive process and only a small number of awards are available.
